While most of our event pages have FAQ sections on them, we figured it might be nice to have a bunch of answers all conveniently located in one place!

General FAQs
Are Super Kraken events open to younger players?
Short answer: No. Longer answer: Players have to be 18 or older for all of our D&D events, and 15 or older for Magic the Gathering Nights and Game Nights. This is to ensure all players are able to have a comfortable, safe experience - as our events are largely attended by adults in spaces with alcohol, we simply cannot guarantee content that is friendly for younger players. In addition, we frequently have fragile things present - from handmade terrain at D&D events to consoles at Game Nights, there's a lot of breakable stuff around that could pose physical danger to very young adventurers.
Why don't you schedule farther out?
We're in our "fuck around and find out" era - we're still testing out what works for us and our players. Also, the SKA Team is small, and right now we all have other full time jobs. It's difficult for us to plan more than three months at a time, and we want to make sure we aren't posting things that we then have to cancel!
Is it possible to get a monthly invoice?
Presently, our backend doesn't allow for a monthly "invoice" - that said, we can create a monthly summary of purchases if that's needed for any reason! If this is something you'd need, please reach out to info@superkrakenadventures.com and we'll be happy to put something together for you.
D&D FAQs
Is the Dungeons or Dragons Pass worth it?
It depends on how much D&D you'd like to play! The Dungeons Pass ($30/month) allows you to attend as many D&D Nights and D&D Classes as you'd like - by regularly coming to just one table (for example, Saturdays), the pass covers the cost of the two sessions each month. If you plan to come to multiple tables each month and want to join a class or two, the Dungeons Pass becomes a steal! The Dragons Pass is very much worth it if you would like to join Online and in-person games - $50/month is more than covered by attending the two Online Games and just one D&D Night!
Can I bring my own character to a D&D Night or Online Game?
Of course you can! Here's a few things to keep in mind: -- Characters should be between Level 3 to 5. -- Check with your DM prior to adding any "homebrewed" (not published in any of the books) elements to your character. -- While not required, it can really help your DM out if you let them take a quick look at the character sheet so they can make sure to suit sessions to their players!
Do I need to commit to an entire campaign?
Absolutely not! Our campaigns are designed to be "drop-in" meaning that, while you do need a ticket, you do not need to be at every session to fully enjoy the adventure. We will fill you in when you first join and, if you miss sessions, when you return! You can also feel free to hop around from campaign to campaign - if you want to see what another night or another table has to offer, feel free to get a ticket for that table next time!
What happens if a session is cancelled?
If a table is cancelled on a night where we have multiple DMs, players have the option to join one of the other tables that night or to reschedule their booking (always free) to a different session (it can be for the same table on a future night or for any other D&D Night). If a table is cancelled on a night where we only have one DM (currently, Sundays and Online Games), our players can reschedule to a future session or, if that does not work for whatever reason, we can offer a voucher for the cost of the session.
What should I bring to D&D Nights and/or Online Games?
We have everything you need to play - all you need is a ticket and, for online sessions, a stable internet connection and a device with a working mic and camera. We can provide character sheets for you and have all the other supplies needed to play! In person, that includes pencils, dice, dice trays, etc. Online, we use a virtual tabletop (Shard Tabletop) for character sheets, battle maps, chat, and dice rolling - accounts on Shard are free for players and we will walk you through how to use it!
Magic: The Gathering FAQs
What do I need to bring to play?
Nothing! We have pre-made decks available for rent, and folks to play against! If you have your own deck, feel free to bring it! This isn't specifically a Commander night, though some folks might have Commander decks with them.
Are MtG Nights really free?
They are! The only way you'd have to pay is if you want or need to rent a deck, but then it's just $5 for the whole night of play!
How do you play?
This is a great question, and a kind of long one to answer. But good news: we have a Cheat Sheet that is available for new players, and our resident MtG expert available to help you learn!
