Table Guidelines

When you’re at a Super Kraken table, it’s our first priority as your DMs that you and all of your fellow adventurers feel welcome, comfortable, and safe to engage in the immersive tabletop experience.

In their best form, our table top games are places where you can experience fantastic moments by being vulnerable enough to achieve full immersion into your character's emotions and motivations. This cannot be achieved if we at the table do not first and foremost feel safe.

To help us ensure that, we have some Table Guidelines for all of our players to follow, and Safety Tools that can be used whenever content comes up that a player doesn't want to engage with.

Player Guidelines

Creating a safe environment is not just on the DM — you, as a player, play a crucial part in the table experience!

To help you help your fellow players, we have some Table Guidelines:

Be Respectful

This game requires folks to step outside of comfort zones, get a little silly, and try big things, and that is best achieved when players are supporting one another!

Be respectful to everyone at our sessions and events - including your DMs!

Be Communicative

Your DM won't always know that something is bothering you unless you speak up! Feel free to reach out before a session in person (we are happy to chat while we set up) or via email/Discord, or to pull us aside at any time during a session.

If you have any particular types of content that you are not comfortable exploring, it helps the DMs so much to know that ahead of time when possible!

Abide By Safety Tools & Requests

If a Safety Tool (i.e. X Card) has been used or your DM has mentioned a particular type of content that is not to be explored, be respectful of that and steer clear where possible.

While the DMs can steer away from content, it's always great when players simply don't bring it up if they are asked not to!

No Harassment

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at a Super Kraken table.

The Super Kraken Adventures team and DMs reserve the right to remove any player who is engaging in harassment or disrespectful behavior from a session/event and/or the Discord server.

Safety Tools

Your DMs have a few forms of Safety Tools in place at the table to help in situations where content comes up that you are not comfortable with.

Though it may seem silly talking about “safety tools” for a tabletop top game, this is something we take very seriously. We expect everyone to honor these requests when they are utilized.

X Cards

There will always be an “X Card” at the table available to everyone - each DM might have a slightly different card, but they all have the same purpose.

If at any point we come across a topic you are uncomfortable with, all you have to do is hold the X Card up and your DM will pause the game to check in with you and (potentially) ask some clarifying questions.

The DM will then do their best to omit, pivot, or skirt around the content/topic.
